Preview: Two Western Conference foes will get together at the United Center in the Windy City. The San Jose Sharks will take on the Chicago Blackhawks.

The Sharks come into the game with a 39-22-8 record, for 86 points; which is third most in the Western Conference. San Jose has lost two in a row, but in their last ten have won seven. The Sharks are 21-11-3 when playing on the road. Joe Thornton leads the way in scoring for the Sharks. Thornton has scored 16 goals, but dished out 40 assists on the season. San Jose scores 2.7 goals per game as a team, and allows 2.5 per game. The Sharks look to hold off Dallas in the Pacific Division. For Chicago, their 37-24-7 record is good enough for 81 points. That currently pits them at tied in fifth with three other teams; just a single point ahead of Nashville.

The Blackhawks are in need of wins to get back to the postseason, where they won the Stanley Cup last season. Chicago is 21-14-0 when playing at home this season. The Blackhawks haven’t played since Wednesday, where they lost at Tampa Bay. Chicago is led by Jonathan Toews and his 40 assists and 28 goals. The Blackhawks are third in the NHL in scoring, with 3.2 goals per game.

Our prediction for this game: Chicago comes away with a home win. Blackhawks win 4-2.
